Looking to join a share boat group? Most groups require a new boat share partner to brush up on their skills and get a clearance. At iiCaptain we can ensure that anyone joining your share boat group has the skills required to not wreck the boat at the start of the holiday or summer season.
We can assist in ensuring that shareholders and families know how to be good skippers and have more than just the basic skipper ticket skills to ensure they can handle your boat.
Looking for a more advanced Boat Course? Look no further than iiCaptains Advanced Boat Handling Course. This advanced course, pefect for anyone who wants to expand on their boat handling skills, teaches boat handling, anchoring, berthing, beaching (only for some boats – if that’s what you want to do) and ‘familiarisation trips’ can be customised to suit your needs.
The course is popular for new boat owners wanting to learn at new locations. We are able to complete custom courses and familiarisation trips on an hourly basis. To ensure you get the best training possible, we only utilise our most senior trainers, all of whom have operated charters, ferries and superyachts with many years experience. These are all professionals, unlike most RST trainers at boat schools who are generally just part- timers.
Boat Handling Course Costs
For any training on your own boat with a master trainer, we require a minimum introductory charge for 3 hours of $425. After this you can book any of our packages. All pricing is per boat, not per person, so bring along your crew, family and friends and all be trained at the same time!
Other Factors When Booking a Boat Handling Course
It is worth remembering that all boating is subjected to weather factors. It may be beneficial for you to learn with good conditions, or perhaps you want to learn to handle the boat in windier conditions. As your date gets closer we can assess the weather and work out the optimal time for your boating course.
Boating Course Inclusions
- Boat parking and handling in a marina
- Trim and open water handling
- A river excursion (we have Day and Night Convoys) where we take just a few boats out into the river to do a familiarisation trip up and show you all the tricks to navigation and how to do what and where.
- A Rotto convoy with a few boats and a trainer to get to know how to get in and out of the bays at Rotto safely. Or a quick trip right around Garden Island or over to Carnac, to anchor and return. Just to get you to know what to do, what the safe things and the dangerous things are.
