NOT an ALL Day Course …. 3 to 4 hours is all you need. The course usually takes around 3.5 hours to complete, but it may run a bit longer. Plan accordingly so you don’t feel rushed during your assessment.
On the day of your iiCAPTAIN! course you will start with the Theory Exam.
- The Theory Exam is a 40 question multiple choice paper.
- The pass mark is 34/40.
- If you score between 30 – 33 the Dept of Transport allow us to offer you another paper if time permits.
- If you score less than 30 they do not allow us to offer you another paper that day.
Once you pass the theory, you go out on the boat and do the Practical Training with our patient, experienced assessors.
The practical assessment consists of 62 different elements, encompassing more than just how well you can drive a boat.
iiCAPTAIN’s practical training will show you exactly what you need to do to pass your Practical Exam.
Please Note: The DoT allows only one Practical Exam on any Calendar date.
*Dept of Transport have added a “processing” fee of an additional $35.85 to have your RST paperwork processed. To make this easy for you, our system will automatically add $35.85 on top of your booking/course fee (per person) at the time of processing your payment. Our system will then pay the Dept of Transport their $35.85 fee when processing your RST paperwork.
**Same Day/Unlimited Theory Resit Available If Time Permitting (2 tests maximum allowed on any one calendar date by DoT – $65 fee per additional date if required).

LICENCE TRANSFERS - Interstate or Overseas $85
If you have an Interstate or Overseas Boating Licence that is accepted by DoT, we can do a Transfer so you can hold a WA Skippers Ticket without having to complete the course.
